Disguise by John Curtis Crawford
This Fairy House is out for a stroll with the woods it lives in. Yes, with the woods. At first glance, it looks like the house grew up in the middle of this thicket of trees in order to care for them but, actually, the trees conjured the house into their midst as camouflage. This is a Wood that moves from place to place, albeit very slowly, and needs to distract human eyes from the fact that it sneaks around. So the woods created this Fairy House with its bright, eye-catching roof and door, to draw attention from the fact that the Wood is not in the same place this morning as it was last night. Fairies in gray cloaks occasionally lurk amidst the trees and slip into the house through a back window. There's probably a password involved but it’s best not to pry into Fairy clandestine operations.
