We've created two magical calendars this year. This one, The Woods, features
mystical Faerie scenes as in past years and includes a separate booklet for the stories. (The other one, The Houses) features the magical dwelling places.
They center on the same theme:
The Way of Faerie
If someone says to you, turn ocean wise or walk moon wise, chances are you can follow the directions. But what if someone tells you to walk Faerie Wise? Do you turn left? Hop on one foot? Walk in circles? On your hands?
Any of those ideas might amuse watching Fairies sufficiently to earn you a brief whisk to the Otherworld but chances are, if you’re considering the question, you want to know how to live your life touched by and in tune with Faerie.
What does it mean to walk the world Faerie Wise and how do you learn to do it? How do you live in the Faerie way, think in Faerie mode, see through the prism of Faerie vision?
There’s no “how to” book that can teach you to become Faerie Wise, but the scenes in this calendar and the stories that accompany them offer clues. Ordinary landscapes become magical visions to show how a Fairy might see the scene. Stories hint at how a Fairy, living in the house, might relate to the surroundings.
Read the stories, meditate on the scenes. One day, when the wind whispers “Become Faerie Wise” you’ll know in your heart what it means.
