Fairy House & story by Carol Yamada
Wood: Driftwood from Netarts Bay, Oregon
Stones: River Rock from the Clackamas River near Carver, OR
Sand: Mystical Blend
The deep warmth of the sunshine has always called to this fairy. She worked for many years in the cold ocean waters, disentangling the seaweed growing towards the surface, and was chilled to her fairy bones for years on end. Now that she’s gotten her very own fairy house, it had to be solar powered.
“I want a big roof to lie on in the sun.” she instructed. “Oh, and smooth stones to lean against on hot days, lots of those!”
And so I built this house for Madrinal so she could be safe and dry during coastal storms in a house that’s strong and protective, and can be a blotter for heat on good days.
