The Forest Sprites are all characters who emerged from John
Crawford's mystical digital collage prints. Each print begins as a
single photograph, taken in nature, and, as John copies, inverts, and
overlaps portions of the photo, he finds creatures who were hiding in
the original scene. Many are shy and choose to remain a part of their
environment in the print but some are intrigued by the opportunity of
having John help them take on individual form. As he coaxes them from
the print, they often find their voices and insert themselves into our
lives and projects. You'll find some of them on the website, others in
the Fairy Woodland movie, "Gateways to Faerie." Now you can bring them
into your life to lighten your day, make you smile, and help you
remember that Fairies are everywhere you look.
TIMBER: That's right, it's a walking tree, not only elderly and wise but cute and cuddly (although you never want to let him hear you say that!).With the wisdom of the trees, Timber is a great listener. Look into his eyes and tell him your secrets or crawl into the cave he offers for a quiet moment of respite from your busy world. Timber carries the lineage of an ancient and ornate web of knowledge drawn from Earth and Sky which, like any clan elder, he's happy to share.
