Finally! Sprite Prints!
They appear on the Website and in "Gateways to Faerie;" after many requests, the Forest Sprites are finally available as prints. Meet them all and choose your favorites.
The Forest Sprites are all characters who emerged from John Crawford's mystical digital collage prints. Each print begins as a single photograph, taken in nature, and, as John copies, inverts, and overlaps portions of the photo, he finds creatures who were hiding in the original scene. Many are shy and choose to remain a part of their environment in the print but some are intrigued by the opportunity of having John help them take on individual form. As he coaxes them from the print, they often find their voices and insert themselves into our lives and projects. You'll find some of them on the website, others in the Fairy Woodland movie, "Gateways to Faerie." Now you can bring them into your life to lighten your day, make you smile, and help you remember that Fairies are everywhere you look.
Forest Sprites on the Website:
Home Page:
Leaf is your guide to the Fairy Store. His shifting eyes make him a perfect choice to lead you through all the products in the store.
Sarafina: Tickle her with your cursor and she’ll flash you her star. She’s agreed to appear on the website only because we’ve told her that it will be good for her career and her fans would expect to see her here.
Ferned: Don't let her cuddly and cute nature fool you - she's actually a genius at creating enchanting habitat designs for our Fairy friends. If you need help with a particular space, hold an image in your mind of the area and items you're working with, then close your eyes and think of her. She'll bring you an idea.
Cedar: He's the swinging dude on the clock pendulum. We don't know a lot about him except that he thinks swinging back and forth in time is a lot of fun.
Winter Shade –a fanciful creature made of light and shadow, most easily spotted in the silver glow of the full moon, sitting on a mushroom. Favorite habitat is anywhere mushrooms grow.
In the drop down menus:
Fir Bear: We found him hiding in a Douglas Fir tree in our Fairy Grove. When you first meet him, you might think he’s a bit soft in the head but don’t underestimate him – he’s really good at puns.
Huckleberry: He’s a little abrupt sometimes, not as soft and warm as the others, but does a great job of keeping track of information. He's pretty good at bringing order to chaos, too - that is, if you like straight lines. The Fairies tease him by moving things around so he has to round them up and put them back in their "proper" places.
